Patient Privacy & AI — FAQ

Plain-language answers about how your data is handled and how AI is used in your nutritional care.

Version 1.0 · 21 February 2026 · For patients

What is PappAI?

PappAI is a platform used by your nutritionist to organise your dietary care pathway, monitor adherence, and manage follow-ups. You interact with PappAI through your nutritionist and the companion mobile app.

Does the AI make decisions instead of the nutritionist?

No. The AI provides decision-support suggestions only. All final clinical and dietary decisions are always made by your nutrition professional.

Does the AI make medical diagnoses?

No. PappAI does not use AI for medical diagnoses or therapeutic prescriptions. Its outputs are strictly informational support for the professional.

Which of my data are used by the AI?

Only data relevant to your nutritional pathway — biometrics, dietary goals, restrictions, and preferences. PappAI applies a data minimisation principle and does not include direct identifiers (name, tax ID, contact details) in AI processing.

Is my name or national ID sent to the AI?

The platform is designed to exclude direct personal identifiers from AI processes wherever they are not strictly necessary. Names, national IDs, and contact details are not sent to the AI model.

Who can see my data?

Only authorised individuals — primarily your nutritionist and, where applicable, their practice staff — according to role-based access controls and for legitimate operational purposes.

Where is my data processed?

On professional cloud infrastructure (Google Cloud Platform) with security controls, encryption, and continuous monitoring. Data is stored within the EU/EEA where possible.

How long is my data retained?

Data is retained for the duration of the professional relationship and as required by applicable regulations (including GDPR and professional record-keeping obligations). You can ask your nutritionist for details.

Can I request access, correction, or deletion of my data?

Yes. You have rights under GDPR (access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, objection). Contact your nutritionist or their practice directly to exercise these rights.

What happens if the AI makes an error?

All AI calls are logged and monitored operationally. The nutritionist always reviews AI outputs before applying them to your care. If you have concerns about the content of your dietary plan, speak directly with your nutritionist.

AI suggestions are decision-support tools for the professional. They do not replace a clinical or medical evaluation.
